Upcoming Summer Events in Barbados

June 1-30: The Barbados Museum & Historical Society Exhibition – LOOKA: Dismantling the Colonial Gaze

This momentous exhibition is a collaboration between five artists: Risée Chaderton-Charles, Jalisa Marshall, Joy Maynard, Amber Newton, and Kia Redman. Their work invites viewers to challenge and re-evaluate the ways colonialism has objectified and caused harm to Black bodies. Sure to be a thought-provoking and impactful exhibition.


June 29: ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Looking for a sporting experience in Barbados? Don’t miss the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Kensington Oval Stadium in Bridgetown. Who will take home the world cup?


July 1 (through to October): Barbados Sea Turtle Project

In Barbados, July marks the start of turtle-nesting season. The Barbados Sea Turtle Project runs a number of educational programs and turtle watching tours so you can learn about these beautiful creatures and observe them in a way that will keep them safe. Definitely a must-see attraction.


July 20-21: Barbados Tipsy Music Festival

This is one of the most highly anticipated Crop Over events! The Barbados Tipsy Music Festival is an unforgettable experience, featuring some of the best international and regional DJs and artists. Dance the night away at this electrifying party!


August 5: Grand Kadooment Day

Celebrate the end of Crop Over Festival at Grand Kadooment Day! This vibrant celebration features street parties, parades, lively music and costumes, and an explosion of colour and joy. Don’t miss this celebration of Bajan culture and heritage.


August 10: Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup

Check out the Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Club and watch this exciting horse racing experience! This is one of the largest sporting events in Barbados, and it draws in an international crowd.


August 18-24: Dive Fest

This water-centred festival has something for everyone. Learn about scuba and freediving, snorkel in the crystal waves, or simply watch from the comfort of a cabana on the shore. There are water activities for every skill-level! There are also opportunities to learn about beach cleanups and conservation tips.


August 18-24: 39th Annual Barbados International Hockey Festival

This festival attracts field hockey teams from all over the globe. Catch a glimpse of these thrilling games featuring both men’s and women’s teams.


All summer long: Crop Over Festival

Don’t miss out on Crop Over Festival while you’re in Barbados! Crop Over is a beloved annual Bajan festival that dates back to the plantation era, and there are events that take place all summer long, starting in May and running until August. There are Soca Fridays After Work Limes for dancing fun, Bridgetown Craft Markets to attend, and cultural events like the Ceremonial Delivery of the Last Canes to check out.
