Get ready to explore!
Hackleton’s Cliff
This is a moderately difficult hike that will take you to the top of Hackleton’s Cliff, one of the highest points on the island (1,000 feet above sea level!). You’ll find yourself among old-growth trees and native Bajan plants on the hike, and once you reach the top of the cliff you’ll be rewarded with gorgeous, panoramic views of the island. Although there are a few steep sections along the way, the views at the top are worth the climb!

Cole’s Cave
For a unique hiking experience, consider hiking Cole’s Cave. This is a moderate to hard hike descending into one of Barbados’ limestone caves. The total hike will take about two to three hours. It involves climbing down steep rocky areas into the cave, using ropes to help, and crawling, swimming, and hiking through pitch black darkness. Inside the cave, you’ll be able to see stalactites and stalagmites, pools, and cave chambers.
Our concierge can book you a hiking guide for this hike, as it is not recommended to do alone. We can also source any hiking gear you might need, including waterproof clothes, headlamps, gloves, and other safety materials.
Bathsheba Coastal Walk
This is a moderate 9.8km hike along the coast, with stunning views and varied terrain. It’s perfect for walking or running. Just be sure to be cautious if you’re exploring this hike after rainfall. Some areas can be slippery. The ocean views and opportunity to explore the Barbados coastline make this a stellar hike.
Chalky Mount and Picture Hole
For a fun, Instagramable experience, hike up Chalky Mount and stop at the picture hole! The natural phenomenon that is the picture hole overlooks the east coast for a spectacular view. And it’s the perfect place to take a photo like no other!
There are two different routes you can take for this hike: one is longer and more difficult (there is a lot more climbing involved) and the other starts in the Chalky Mount Village neighbourhood and is a much easier hike—although you will still have a climb.
Regardless of which route you take, the views and photo opportunities will be worth it!

Railway Hike to Bathsheba
This hike combines history and gorgeous views! The Barbados Railway line was once used to transport sugar cane across the country, from the estates of St. Andrew to the ports of Bridgetown. The railways stopped being used in the 1930s, and today it has become a popular hiking route along the east coast. Expect to see incredible rock formations, tidal pools, and hidden bays!
